Vallejo Symphony Concert

Love, Death, and Dance-

Our spring concert takes off into flights of fancy with three evocative works that will transport you to other worlds. Rossini’s dramatic opera Semiramide is only seldom performed today, but its lovely, bittersweet overture alternates gorgeous wind and brass solos with martial passages that express the violent passions unleashed in its plot. Fauré’s poignant Pavane evokes a lovely and mysterious vision of dances from other times. Brahms’s stormy Symphony No. 4 is an emotional journey in itself, from passionate yearning to fulfillment.

“Song Gathering” – New Music for Treble Voices Choral Festival

Experience the soaring power of treble choirs from around the Bay Area. Celebrating its fifth year, the New Music for Treble Voices Festival welcomes guest chorus Musae from San Francisco, under the direction of former PWC member Amy Stuart Hunn. This exciting group joins the PWC, Piedmont East Bay Children’s Choir, and Volti on stage for a dynamic afternoon of contemporary music, featuring the world premiere of “Song Gatherings” by Eric Tuan, based on texts by Bengali poet Rabindranath Tagore.
